Fantastic New Funding!

Today, Autism and Nature has received a National Lottery Heritage Fund grant for an exciting heritage project entitled ‘Toys Through Time’, that will be carried out in Essex. This has been made possible by money raised by National Lottery players. The project focuses on engaging children in two Essex special schools with vintage toys, during a series of eight visits to Chelmsford Museum. The project will be written up, and included in our guide to visiting heritage sites in Essex, that will be published in summer 2019. Three thousand copies of the guide will be distributed, free of charge, to families and special schools in Essex by Essex County Council Short Breaks for Disabled Children and Young People.

Commenting on the award, David Blakesley said “we are delighted to have received this award, thanks to the players of the National Lottery, and we are confident that it will make a real difference to the lives of the children with autism and related conditions, who will visit Chelmsford Museum to learn about vintage toys”.
