The second in our series of local guides designed to help parents, carers and teachers to engage children on the autistic spectrum with the countryside has now been published. The guide is currently being distributed by East Sussex County Council, and will be available to download from our website in the near future.
David Blakesley gave a presentation on March 7th to the Joint Meeting of National Outdoors for All Working Group and Outdoors for All Research Group, hosted in London by Natural England. David spoke about his research ‘Engaging Children on the Autistic Spectrum with the Natural Environment – Teacher Insight and Evidence Review’, which was carried out in partnership with Dr Mark Rickinson and Professor Justin Dillon (King’s College London). The Research Report will be published in the near future.
